Set travel policy calculation method

In this article, we explain how to set the travel policy to calculate by visit or by journey and when to use each option.

Use this setting to control how travel is calculated for visits. Choosing the right method helps fix issues where mileage is missing and makes sure travel applies correctly to timesheets.

To set the travel policy calculation method, follow these steps:

  1. Click Setup.

  2. Click System.

  3. Click Travel time/expenses.

  4. Under Travel policy defaults, choose between:

    • Visit: The system applies the travel policy to the whole visit. If a visit has two journeys, the policy applies to both, depending on how the policy is set up.

    • Journey: The system applies the travel policy to each journey within the visit, based on the journey rules in the policy.

    🤓 Tip: If mileage is missing from a timesheet, check this setting before rerunning travel.

  5. Click Save changes.
