Create a credit note

In this article, we explain how to create and print a credit note, as well as how to re-invoice after creating a credit note.

A credit note lets you correct or reverse a customer invoice. You can create it from the timesheet, print it through the invoicing module, and then re‑invoice if you need to issue a new corrected invoice.

To create a credit note, follow these steps:

  1. Click Customer.

  2. Click Invoice.

  3. Search for the timesheet.

  4. Click the create button next to the timesheet.

  5. Select the allow the timesheet to be credited checkbox.

    • Select the Dup checkbox too if you need to re‑invoice the customer.

  6. Click Save Changes.


Print a credit note

To print a credit note, follow these steps:

  1. Click Invoicing.

  2. Select the Credit Note radio button.

  3. Select the Temporary radio button.

  4. Click Generate New Credit Notes.

  5. Set the Date From and Date To.

  6. Choose Generate for All Creditable Customers or Generate from a selection of Customers.

  7. Click on the customer.

  8. Click Generate.

  9. Select the credit note from the dated list on the left.

  10. Select the Print checkbox.

  11. Click Print Selected.

Once you’re happy with the credit note, repeat steps 1–11 but select the Normal radio button in step 2.


Re‑invoice after creating a credit note

To re-invoice after creating a credit note, follow these steps:

  1. Click Client.

  2. Click on the client’s name.

  3. Click Timesheets.

  4. Edit the timesheet to make the required changes.

  5. Select the Inv checkbox for the timesheets you want to re‑invoice.

  6. Click Save Verification.

  7. Click Invoicing.

  8. Click Generate New Invoices.

  9. Set the Date From and Date To.

  10. Choose Generate for all invoiceable Customers and Clients or Generate from a selection.

  11. Click Generate.
